A green lung for the community

Deep Greens is a landscape masterplan for a residential community on the outskirts of Gandhidham. The design uses only drought-tolerant native species — acacia, neem, bougainvillea, and deep-rooted grasses — to create a public park that thrives in the arid Kutch climate with minimal irrigation.

The site is organised around a central rain garden that captures monsoon runoff, filtering it naturally through gravel beds and native reeds before it percolates into the groundwater table.

Walking paths made of reclaimed local stone wind through the planted areas, connecting shaded seating nodes and a small amphitheatre. Deep Greens demonstrates that regenerative landscape design is possible even in the most challenging climates.
